I don't know about you but I am sooo ready for a snow day. We have been teased by a flake or two but no heavy snow!
So..... here's hoping for some white stuff to come around.
I did this project with 2nd graders.
First, we painted the sky with blue and greens. Lots of Swirls in the sky!
Second, added snow with torn or cut paper.
Then took oil pastels and made circles for the snowman. Cut out the shape then glue down. Students decorated the snowman after it was glued down.
Lastly, sprayed watered down white paint for snow.
looks fantasic and yes- I am just about ready for a SNOW day!!
ReplyDeleteI would be just oh so happy to have a snow day. Our county had flurries today, but none near me, and none heavy enough to get a moment off from school.
ReplyDeletedid something very similar with my 2nd graders...We talked about foreground , middle ground and background . They added details with material and buttons and beads. Snowing in Colorado as we speak!
ReplyDeleteyeah Monday driving
Oh my goodness, no snow days YET. Around here, we'll need them in January, February, and March can be really tricky sometimes. I don't know where you are located or your policy on snow days, but we have just three available for the year, and we'll need every one I'm sure!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I do like these snowmen!
Looks like you got your wish!
ReplyDeleteWe tried them right before Christmas break and they turned out so cute! Thanks for the great idea.
