Monet Waterlilies paintings created by 3rd grade artists.
Inspirational Board
Students looked at the Monet inspirational board. We discussed the difference between hardy and tropical waterlilies. Hardy water lilies can live in cold climates and usually have white,
yellow or pink flowers.
Tropical lilies have more delicate flower petal colors and are usually purples and blues.
Class one: Students painted analogous water ponds.
Class Two: Students added painted paper lilypads, added veins with oil pastels then painted with large brushstrokes to represent the lily flower.
Class Three: Students added a frame with a painted paper border.
beautiful approach!
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful! Your students must have had a great time creating these Monet Masterpieces!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic and capture the essence of Monet's waterlilies! I love the addition of the decorative frame.
ReplyDeleteGreat project!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!!! Monet is my absolute favorite artist. I have done his ponds in many different ways with my students over the years but this is the best way I have seen. They all have the "feel" of impressionism. Monet would be proud!
