
2nd grade students were introduced to the fabulous folk artist, Karla Gerard. We looked at various paintings she has created. She has such beautiful patterns and designs in all of her art work. Students painted paper then cut fish shapes, added simple patterns and large eyes. This was a simple project but was a great first project of the year.
While students were creating their fish, other students were painting the large background with large brushstrokes and adding details such as seaweed. Here are our finished projects.
